Professional packing and shipping for laboratory and biotech equipment
Precise Device has been moving sensitive laboratory instruments since 2015, from single benchtop units to full lab closeouts. Every instrument we sell or relocate is packed by people who have handled that class of equipment before, not by a generic warehouse crew.
We build the packaging around the instrument: double-wall corrugated boxes with custom foam for benchtop units, engineered wood crates for heavy or high-value systems, and freight for anything that will not fit on a parcel truck. We also handle decommissioning, so equipment leaves your lab safely and arrives ready to install.
- Hands-on experience with analytical, molecular biology, and clinical instrumentation
- Custom packaging: double-wall cartons, high-density foam, anti-static wrap, wood crating
- Decommissioning, drainage, and safe preparation of used equipment before transport

Why labs send their equipment through us
Precision instruments fail in transit for predictable reasons: unsupported rotors, unsecured optics, loose internal assemblies, and boxes that let the unit shift. We address each of those before the crate closes.
We have moved incubators, ultracentrifuges, imaging systems, HPLC stacks, and analytical instruments by treating each shipment as its own engineering problem: correct cushioning, correct bracing, correct freight class. Larger loads get purpose-built crates and pallet systems so the equipment stays stable from dock to dock.
Lab relocation in the Pacific Northwest
If your lab is moving within the Pacific Northwest, our team can work on site alongside yours rather than simply receiving boxes. A specialist visits your facility and builds a move plan covering:
- Inventory and labeling of every instrument, accessory, and cable
- Decommissioning procedure for each unit, including drainage and lockout where required
- Packing specification per equipment type
- Freight coordination, timing, and dock or elevator access at both ends

On moving day the crew uses anti-static wrap, custom crates, and the appropriate freight option, including air-ride or climate-controlled trailers where the instrument requires it. Everything is braced so it can be handled by pallet jack, liftgate, or forklift without loading the equipment frame.
How we pack
Each item is individually wrapped in foam, bubble, or anti-static material and labeled for handling. After wrapping, we select one of three methods based on size, weight, and value.

Double-wall corrugated boxes
For smaller and lighter items. Each unit is wrapped, cushioned, and separated with dividers or inserts so nothing shifts in transit.
- Benchtop instruments and small devices
- Glassware, consumables, and delicate components
- Controllers, monitors, and accessories

Custom-built crates and pallets
For large, heavy, or high-value equipment such as centrifuges, freezers, incubators, and analytical systems. Crates are built to the footprint of the instrument.
- Interior blocking and high-density foam
- Anchor points against tipping and shifting
- Pallet base for forklift and pallet-jack handling

Freight shipping (LTL and FTL)
For oversized, heavy, or multi-unit shipments we book carriers that regularly handle laboratory equipment.
- LTL for consolidated freight, FTL for large moves
- Liftgate and inside delivery for sites without a dock
- Air-ride and climate-controlled trailers
